Early Years – Grade 4
Early Childhood & Primary Educatio
A safe start, stress-free adaptation, and the natural joy of discovering the world.
The first years at school shape a child’s lifelong relationship with learning. Discover how, in intimate classes of up to 18 students, we nurture the emotional well-being of the youngest learners, integrate the core curriculum with experiential inquiry, and eliminate sensory overload within a secure, guarded campus featuring a 3,000 m² private garden.
How is students’ physical safety ensured on campus and in the garden?
The school grounds and our private garden (3,000 m²) are fully fenced, secure, and monitored 24/7 by CCTV. Access to the property and the main building is restricted exclusively to authorized keycard/fob holders or granted after identity verification by staff at the gate. No unauthorized visitors are permitted on campus.
How does the school prevent sensory overload in younger students?
We eliminate sources of sensory stress: at SVS, there are no loud school bells, we work in small groups of up to 18 students, and the rhythm of breaks and lesson duration is adjusted flexibly by the teacher based on the children’s focus. Whenever a student needs a moment to decompress, they can access a safe relaxation zone, receive guidance from a Sensory Integration (SI) specialist, or recharge through nature in our garden.
How do early learners (Preschool – Grade 3) learn in the IB PYP without traditional letter or numerical grades?
We use formative assessment and learning portfolios. Instead of stressful grades (1–6) and peer comparisons, students and parents receive precise, qualitative feedback detailing current mastery, thinking styles, and future focus areas. Children learn through inquiry-based projects while preserving their natural curiosity.
Will a 6- or 7-year-old with no prior English language experience cope in a bilingual environment?
Yes. In the primary years, English is introduced through a natural immersion approach. Language is embedded within everyday interactions, collaborative projects, play-based activities, and routine teacher instructions. Children acquire English intuitively through context, eliminating the need for rote memorization.
How is the afternoon and after-school care program structured?
We provide comprehensive care from 7:00 AM to 4:45 PM. Following the end of core lesson blocks at 3:30 PM, our after-school program is far from passive supervision—students spend time actively outdoors in our 3,000 m² garden, join extracurricular clubs, or unwind in dedicated relaxation zones under the attentive guidance of educators.

Grades 5–8
Upper Primary & Middle Stage
Academic excellence, student agency, and a seamless transition to high school.
The upper primary years mark a pivotal stage for cultivating critical inquiry, independent responsibility, and digital fluency. Learn how we equip students for the 8th-grade examination, foster advanced bilingualism, and provide an empowering environment where teenagers feel valued, heard, and intrinsically driven.
How is the IB PYP aligned with the Polish National Curriculum (MEN) and 8th-grade examination requirements?
Our educational program strictly fulfills 100% of the Polish Ministry of National Education (MEN) core curriculum while enriching learning through the IB inquiry framework. We offer an expanded schedule of instructional hours in mathematics, science, and English. As a result, our Grade 8 graduates achieve robust academic proficiency, fluent bilingual competence, and exceptional readiness for national standardized exams.
How is modern technology (tablets, computers) integrated into the classroom?
Technology at SVS serves as an active research tool, not a passive screen. Upper-grade students utilize dedicated devices—including tablets and digital lab tools—to collect data for interdisciplinary inquiry, build presentations, code, and collaborate via our educational cloud, always under guided teacher supervision.
How does the transition work for older students transferring from a traditional or public school?
Every incoming student experiences a structured, supportive onboarding process—including 1–2 trial days prior to admission and dedicated mentor guidance throughout their start. Our faculty and school psychologist assist learners in making a seamless transition from conventional teacher-led instruction to our inquiry-based model centered on critical questioning, hypothesis testing, and collaborative project research.
Do SVS Primary School graduates have guaranteed placement at Leonardo SVS High School?
Yes. We provide a cohesive educational pathway spanning from early childhood education directly to the International Baccalaureate. SVS primary graduates are granted priority enrollment into Leonardo High School, where they can pursue the rigorous IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) for their secondary credentials.
How do we monitor adolescent mental health, well-being, and peer relationships?
Small class cohorts capped at 18 students ensure that no child goes unnoticed. Our educators maintain close individual relationships with every learner. Supported by on-site psychologists, pastoral counselors, and regular Social Skills Training (SST), we intervene proactively at the earliest signs of emotional distress, peer conflict, or motivational dips before they escalate.
IB PYP
International Baccalaureate
Global educational standards, transdisciplinary inquiry, and critical questioning.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a world-renowned educational framework designed to cultivate critical, independent thinkers rather than passive learners. Explore our six transdisciplinary units of inquiry, see how we foster the IB Learner Profile attributes, and discover why this global standard provides an exceptional foundation for progression into top-tier secondary institutions worldwide.
What exactly is the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), and how does it differ from traditional schooling?
The IB PYP is an international educational framework designed for children aged 3 to 12, accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization. Instead of passive rote memorization from textbooks, the program fosters critical thinking, inquiry, and independent reasoning. Rather than dividing knowledge into rigid, isolated subjects, students engage in transdisciplinary units of inquiry that integrate mathematics, science, language, and the arts into a cohesive, real-world context.
What are the 6 transdisciplinary themes in the IB PYP?
Each school year in the PYP is structured around six transdisciplinary themes: Who we are, Where we are in place and time, How we express ourselves, How the world works, How we organize ourselves, and Sharing the planet. Students explore real-world phenomena and contemporary global issues, acquiring academic knowledge within a practical, meaningful context.
What is the IB Learner Profile?
The IB programme places equal emphasis on academic knowledge and the development of character and social responsibility. We nurture students guided by the 10 core attributes of the IB Learner Profile: inquirers, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, reflective, and knowledgeable.
Is the IB PYP recognized in Poland and abroad in the event of relocation?
Yes. The IB programmes are a unified and globally recognized standard of educational excellence, taught in more than 5,000 schools across over 150 countries. A student completing their IB stages at SVS can seamlessly transition to any international school worldwide, continue their education at our Leonardo High School (IB Diploma Programme), or integrate into the traditional Polish national curriculum.
